Our Mission
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. (James 1:27 -NLT)
Our Vision and values
The Foundation provides monthly financial assistance to one family at a time for a duration of six months. Each family receives £100, converted to Ghanaian cedi (GHS), with £85 going directly to the widow or single mother and the remainder allocated for the Debrah Foundation team's transportation and visitation expenses in Ghana.
With the average living wage in Ghana estimated at around 900 GHS per month, the £100 provided adds to the household income. To qualify, a destitute widow or single mother must have some income. Monthly funds are for reinvesting in her business to support growth and financial stability, with the responsibility for managing these funds placed on the recipient to foster accountability.
The intervention is intended to reduce financial burdens for single mothers and widows with children and to improve their living conditions. Outcomes are evaluated based on changes in the family's financial stability and quality of life.
Monthly visits by the Foundation include financial disbursement and, as part of the Foundation’s standard practice, Christian fellowship led by a local pastor; these meetings involve sharing the Gospel, discipleship, and monitoring progress.
After six months of support and involvement, the Foundation will conclude assistance for the current family and begin supporting another, continuing the process on a rolling basis.
