Our Story
In Summer 2023, Michael Debrah returned to Ghana after 12 years and was struck by the stark divide between wealth and poverty. Motivated to act, he founded a Christian charity—currently self-funded and supported by a few donors—to help single mothers and widows with young children escape poverty, starting in Ghana and aiming to grow globally. The Foundation partners with Jesus Rescue Team and Charis Global (UK).
This vision led to the creation of a Christian charity, which is currently fully self- funded with regular donations from a few generous supporters. The charity’s purpose is to support disadvantaged single mothers and widows with young children out of poverty, through SMART financial interventions, and sharing the Gospel through evangelism and discipleship, starting in Ghana and, with God's grace, expanding to the rest of the world. The Foundation works in partnership with Jesus Rescue Team and Charis Global, receiving moral and prayer support from Sparkbrook Elim Pentecostal Church in Birmingham (UK).
